Manila 1914

Manila 1739

Produced for the Philippines’ Spanish governor around 1739.  It would have supplied the British East India Company with knowledge of its defences, which enabled them to besiege and capture Manila in 1762.  The annotations ‘breach’ and guns’ were probably added by George III.*
